At the same time, the patient must realize that the doctor is well within his rights to refuse to fragility the patient if the doctor is unable to view as satisfactory x-rays. If the patient is in the doctors office and must be treated, the doctor should treat the patient as best as he can and then suggest that on his attached visit, the patient see another dentist. To treat a patient and not really know what unrivaled is treating is neg ligent on the part of the doctor. Documentation must be maintained by the doctor in a permanent patient file in order to protect himself. A letter to the doctors lawyer which explains the situation is in order.
